Queries:   Ellen accepts queries by mail or fax.  We will respond to mailed query letters if an SASE is provided. Please send manuscripts only upon request.  Due to the volume of queries received, we cannot take responsibility for any unsolicited material.  If you have any further questions, please refer to our FAQ section.

If a manuscript is requested: Please send the manuscript together with any additional relevant information, such as your previous publications.  If you would like the materials returned to you in the event we are unable to offer representation, please enclose packaging materials and the necessary postage, either in the form of a check or a metered postal strip.  Due to changes in postal regulations, we are unable to mail packages in excess of 16 ounces with postage stamps.

We do not charge reading or handling fees.  The agency commission is 15% on domestic sales, and 20% for foreign sales.  If we offer representation, we would ask you to assume the costs of photocopying manuscripts for submission, overseas phone and fax, any messenger or Fedex charges (we absorb UPS charges), books and galleys purchased for additional rights sales, and overseas package postage.
